Sum quod eris; fui quod es.
it is usually used on a tome stone so…
“I am what you will be,” i.e. - dead.
“I was what you are,” i.e. alive.
I have a feature that every time I long into the terminal of my computer it spews forth a quote and today came “Sum quod eris”. I thought that it looked familiar but had no idea what it said. So a little digging I got the translation. Interesting.
